Draco the Prat has finally become Draco the Perceptive. These two are so similar in so many of the fundamental things.
Wow, excellent point! With the right (or wrong) inflection, that statement can be a really sharp knife in Harry's gut, and of course he would lash out. A lot of what Draco says can be read in two different ways, but he is never given the benefit of the doubt due to his constant bastard-ness. And yeah, had to get the Draco-snark in there. ^_~
For my part, I probably would have placed it later in the story, but that’s not to say that it doesn’t work here, just that I’m a pushy reader!
Haha, actually, that line gave me trouble right up until the end, and I'm still not sure I like it. The thing is, to me (and perhaps I haven't communicated this very well in the story), Harry doesn't love him, doesn't really know what he feels. But he knows Draco needs to hear it, and he's almost... trying it out to see what kind of effect it has. He really doesn't know how he feels yet, but he knows he doesn't hate him anymore, and that he actually feels a lot of compassion for him. Yet another instance of Harry acting before he really considers all angles... but he was just trying to help, as usual.
Ahaha, actually I didn't know Lisa Germano had an album! I love the song she sang for the Underworld soundtrack. Absolutely gorgeous. But if she has more... *bounces* I will have to go get it! *kiss* Thanks.
