So I finally left off on the second to last chapter of the prequel at like 3:30 am. o.0
I had started with the first Darker Magic in Chap. 3 and well... I think what grabbed me was the use/incorporation of magic.
As to the fluff, I thought about it and I think the reason it works for me, is that it's slow. Both these boys have so much going on in their lives, as Draco's Dad so clearly mentions in not so many words, even if that's not what he's intent is (coz I don't know what it really is), but to the reader, to me, it's clear enough.
The love thing in this chapter was almost cliche, but you wrapped it up so well with the way it was used... like I said, what I hope to see, what I think JKR will be pointing at in HBP and B7.
I'm rambling now. But really, I love this kind of fic, because it's something that could possibly happen in the series.
I also really enjoyed the humor the bits you threw in to break up the angst and tension. What I'm missing (and yes, I'm being quite selfish here) is the bit of behaviour Draco has when he walks into the Hospital wing. I could see it. I hope he gets back there at some point again. Poor boo, so hurt and well... Harry is too.
And I think that's the other part of it, you got Harry to a point where he had to re-evaluate Draco. Something I think will happen in the last two books, considering there is a whole chapter with his name on it.
One can hope. And I have held my judgment on him, as again, it's Harry's POV in the books that we get and well, he's just carrying around his prejudiced views of the bully from what others have said and the words of an 11 year old.
But I digress...
If I may, I'm going to add you to my flist. your welcome to read any of my posts, and work if you like, though it's heavy on the theory side of fandom.
Thank you for having integrity in your writing. I'm looking forward to more.
