Question for video artists...

What kind of video editing software would you recommend? Which one do you swear by? Which one will do in a pinch? I'm in the market because I'd like to make some music videos, but please keep in mind, I'm an amateur; I've made a couple vids, but they are not exactly full of The Michael Baysplosions, or The Spielberg Awesomesauce. ^_^

Thank you so much for your help!!!

I'm off to Lubricus con for the weekend. Wheeeeeeeee!!!!

i've heard that windows movie maker is a good starting point. if possible, you should download an older version of it (unless you have an older laptop, then it should come with an older version) because the 'improved' new version offers fewer options and controls.

adobe premier or final cut pro. i like the last one, not too hard to use.

I'm assuming you mean a proper video with moving images. I don't know about that.

But if you want to make a slideshow with music, iphoto - if you have a mac - is a very simple and easy (and free) program to use.

iMovie if you've a Mac is supposedly very easy to use.
