The relationship between Draco and his father is one of my favorite aspects of this trilogy. I really don't agree with the fics where Lucius and Draco hate each other, unless good reason is given. I think they have a family just like the Weasleys. The dynamics are definitely different, but it's obvious from book 6 that Narcissa at least cares deeply for the wellbeing of her son. I see Lucius and Draco's relationship as being perhaps a bit aloof, but yearning to be more than they were given time for.
