This was an excruciating piece. The way you stretched out their night with all the detail, all the past--I mean, because what actually happens after they shut the door isn't a whole lot, in terms of literal time and space...but that door shuts and I'm thinking it'll happen with a touch or it won't, and it'll be a flash or it won't--and then you just open up this huge, spilling over, whirling all around, launch them out and away...thing.
It was pretty startling. And intense. And I also really liked the description of Hermione, with the pale green and the reddish highlights; and the dead-end cul-de-sac of conversation; and Draco's face wide open, cracked at the edges.
Thank you so much for writing this--I felt like this was the downpour, like finally breathing in when you've been holding your breath too damn long. You've brought them back to the safer side of the ledge beautifully.
