Chapter 7

My trip:

Porterville was small, but fun. Had a mellow weekend with my buddy Christine. It was great to see her again. We hopped over to Visalia and shopped. I picked up a bunch of good-looking... guys! Heh. YEAH RIGHT. BOOKS, people. I picked up BOOKS. One on vampire stories (bwahaaa...), one on zombies *rubs hands gleefully*, and one on a plague that morphs its victims' DNA! Ought to have a fun time reading for the next few months.

Had yummy clam chowder and glazed grilled sourdough in Porterville, and met Christine's family. They are really nice! Lots of kitties, and god knows I LOVE kitties.

Anyway. So, I'm back! Score!

Yay! Congrats on a new entry.

And it's good to have you back. Not a fan of clam chowder myself but I'm glad you enjoyed it. ;)

Hehe, clam chowder is my favorite kind of soup. Especially in a bread bowl. But I can definitely understand how you either like it or you don't. It's a peculiar taste, isn't it?

To finish the story of a vacation, from the other point of view

Yes, and she convinced an other wise mild mannered girl who reads a lot of *ahem* I perfer the term "erotica" to write HP Pron. So, this is what happened. Sunday after the R-ster leaves, my dad gets his birthday and his present, the first season of the original Star Trek series. We sit down, we watch. And before long I'm thinking to myself, did Leonard Nimoy know he was playing Spock as gay and totally in (unrequited) love with one James T. I do a lot of women Kirk? I mean, come on! Or has thoughts of trying to write good HP Pron made my brain go a little. . . slashy? The world may never know. What do you think R-ster? -CB

Well, first I must point out that the Spock/Kirk slash fic line has been going on for YEARS, apparently. I may have to swing over that way and check some of it out... see the ancestor of H/D fics. But alas, you are correct: unrequited. I get the feeling Kirk is much too noncommittal to give Spock the love he deserves. However, neither could ask for a better, closer, and more protective friend. THAT'S the glory of the relationship in my opinion. Causes all the fics.

Hahaha, you dad's a Trekker, too? I love Star Trek. Grew up with Next Generation and Deep Space Nine.

Yes we are all Trekky here. Poor Spock :-( His butt was too nice to be left alone forever. So, I'm looking up Brit slang right now. Don't know why, thought it would be cool.

Oh yes, I know I have no original ideas when it comes to slashyness. I am uninitated in general when it comes to fics, and so it is not suprising that I am uninitated in slash fics. But when you watch the show you can just really SEE! it. I mean much more than the supposed Jack/Daniel thing on SG-1 or the Xander/and any of the other male characters on Buffy. I mean, it's just so there! I wonder if they were aware of how much there it was? Ah the deep questions. *pondering*

I have another link for you. I'll send it to you via email. You decide if you want to share it or not.
