Woke up this morning and saw you on my flist. Was so happy and had to run over and read this as soon as I could!

...lengthy final battle he would never win. I no longer knew what he was fighting for. But the fighting itself was necessary.

Love this line, like there's an unspoken battleground and Draco has no idea whose banner is being waved. But by the end, the way this image comes full-circle... oh, I adore it. Hmm... can't really think of anything more coherent than the silly emotional reaction.

...as if he knew his touches were driving the haze from my lungs and eyes, as if he knew, and wanted to be the first thing I saw with cleared vision.

I love your focus on details, such as vision, and, specifically, Harry's eyes, and the way they change, shift, depending on his mood, and the mood of that section of the piece. This image alone is enough to set the tone, and coupled with this theme of possession and anger, transforms all of the sex scenes from being merely hot, into vibrant, emotional, shocking, and painful, all at once.

His eyes dropped. The room felt cold at last and I shivered.

Once again with this recurring image of Harry's eyes, the way they can change from hate to love to warmth to cold. You've written them as though they themselves are alive, and it's wonderful. But even more wonderful are Draco's reactions to each shift in Harry's gaze.

And the flow of dialogue throughout the trial is so pulsing, so perfectly paced. It makes the scene so visual and real. You can really feel the tension in each word. And Blaise... I love the way you've written him. The anger, the betrayal, everything.

Everything magical seemed to have a wisp of Harry in it, almost a memory.

That line... Draco's whole world is magical in some way, and Harry's there in every corner of it. Harry is everything magical. That line is so so beautiful. I really like how in all of your fics you have this idea of sensing magic. Somehow it darkens the tone so much, this idea of not only a person, but their essence trapped somehow in whatever mark they leave behind in the air.

He looked at me, and then opened his mouth and said my name once. It drew my eyes to his, and I could see my name there.

The idea of Draco being captured in Harry's eyes, the idea that Draco always has been captured, in a sense, that he is a part of Harry.

And oh wow, that last sex scene - although I hate to demean it and term it merely a 'sex scene' because it's so much more than that... It's gorgeous. There's so much there; I love every single line. But especially this one: I could not tell whose tears were on my cheeks anymore. The way they both wanted the same thing but Draco had never told up until this point. The pain, the relief, the regret, it's all so tangible.

Your Draco is so distinctive, vulnerable and submissive and the way he latches on to everything he's given from Harry...

And the simplicity in that final line is perfection.
