Sorry this took me so long. RL has been giving me a pain in the neck.
Ahaha, yeah, okay, I will try not to spoil anything for you concerning book 6 then. Oh, it was good though. Really fulfilled some things for me, and on top of that, I got to ponder a well-crafted mystery again so that was nice.
One of the main issues I have with Harry Potter is the cliche aspect of it. Book six does a lot to alleviate that particular issue, but I totally hear you about the lack of a brilliant bad guy. Voldemort scared me so much in book four, as did Bellatrix, but then in five they just... got whiny. And annoying. And not nearly as frightening. I think Voldemort gains some of that back in book 6, but Bella... Hmm.
There are things in book 6 that really bothered me from a writing standpoint, but I don't know how much I can say here... *bites nails* It's a humdinger of a climax and I wouldn't want to ruin it for you. But there is definitely a change in style, at least as far as the plots and intrigues and deceit goes. If I am right about one particular aspect of the story, then I applaud JK for going out on an EXTREMELY shaky limb. It's wonderful.
