I actually just finished it last night. Like you, I prefer stretching my reading time out. More rewarding that way in my opinion. I am sorry the book got ruined for you; I hope the post you saw was wrong and that there will still be surprises in store.
I really liked this book. My favorite is Prisoner of Azkaban, but I just think the plotline in this one was so tightly woven... Very strong. I think at least three of my theories were proven right, and I have one or two still standing for perusal int he 7th book. But the end is certainly a whopper. Let's just say that even if you know who dies, it will still hit you very hard with a lot of emotion and a LOT of questions. ^_^
