I was playing a sad song on my ocarina last night as the full moon lofted overhead and a cool breeze whispered secrets in the ivy leaves . . . when something horrifying happened to me.
I realized my purpose in life.
It came to me in the form of a vision. At first I thought I was passing out, because dark fire swallowed my vision and the bright, terrible moon dripped away like hot wax before the flames. But conscious thought did not desert me, and in the darkness at length I saw a new light.
A glowing figure resolved before my eyes . . . a beautiful man whose face I did not recognise, yet it seemed at once so familiar that I began to wrack my memory for his name in vain. I cannot here repeat the words he said to me. But I awoke from the vision with the taste of a new life upon my lips, a new name-- a whole new identity. When
lunacyandanchor came outside to ask me why I had not yet come up the stairs to participate in her nightly ritual antler dances, I did not respond . . . for I no longer recognised the name by which she called me. The ocarina fell from my bloodless fingers, and I leapt to my feet and took her by the shoulders. "You don't understand!" I hissed, shaking her back and forth, to and fro, up and down, and around and around, and around. "You must give up your corporeal form and this sad, shadow-stricken, meaningless world," I cried, before releasing her to let her fall to the dew-laden grass. I ran away then. I fled. I write this final entry from her computer (while she bangs on the back door, crying my old name, and begging to be let back inside her house) so that you will all know what has befallen me. Do not try to dissuade me. Wait instead for my signal, and dare to join me if you are brave. You shall know the sign when it comes. Look to the oh DAMN SHE BROKE IN THROU THE WINDO!
