I have only just become aware of this trilogy. I now know that I had been missing a brilliant piece of work. When I saw this post, I began to read the story from the very beginning. I told myself I would only read a few chapters and then go to bed. Now I find that it is well into the morning and I have practically devoured every word.
A thing that stands out greatly in your writing is that there is always a believable motivation for the actions of your characters. I think that is why so many people who read your work immediately grasp whatever ideas you are trying to put across. Even when the reader disagrees with a character's actions or opinions, the driving force behind it is always understandable.
As to this particular story, I find it to be utterly captivating. There is not a thing I dislike about it. Your characterisation of Lucius is especially intriguing and refreshing. Although he may express his ideas in an unconventional manner, you seem to have laid his thought process bare and, in that way, I can see how he reaches whatever conclusions he does.
Once again, I have to tell you that I have a great deal of respect for your work. I really enjoy your thoughtful style of writing. I am definitely looking forward to reading more of this.
