That was so painfully intense ... and just painful! :( That arguement was awful, in the way that some arguements are, where after awhile you wind up almost irrational, and don't even know what you're arguing about. It seems like they've both fallen into a pattern and underneath it all they're arguing about something completely different, but neither of them can find the words to say it.
I worry about whether they'll be able to find their way back to each other at this point. :( Because even though I was happy that the ending was at least hopeful, I'm not sure they have the skills or ability to fix what's gone wrong between them.
If I'm reading this right, Harry is finding himself starting to become attracted to other men, or at least to want to sleep with them (it seems because of what he's missing with Draco.) But some part of their dynamic has to be his fault, and reading this, I'm not sure if he understands what that is. It doesn't sound like Draco does either. They love each other, but they're completely unable to communicate ... aaaaah! Get these men into couples counseling before it's too late! Please!
As always, you've made me completely feel their pain ... and omg, here I am psychoanalyzing your characters!!! :P It just seems that real to me, and that's an impressive achievement, that you've demonstrated the dysfunction in their relationship so clearly. I just can't help wanting to fix it and see them happy again.
I would be curious too as to the other route that you had in mind ...
