Anyone know anything about a guy named Peter on the web who claims to be a psychic? I am trying to find out more about this guy because Sis found his website and the answers he gives you to questions about yourself are just uncanny. He was able to tell some of her friends exactly what they were wearing and what they were doing and thinking about at that moment. More worrisome is the fact that he was also able to tell my sis and her friend their full names, including middle name. Sis and I have impossible last names, and her friend's last name is no easy thing either. I don't know about Sis' friend, but I am damn sure WE don't have a webcam.

So. Anyone know anything about this guy? I don't want to give out the web address in case this is some sort of elaborate scam. (On a sidenote, this could give conspiracy theorists everywhere a jolt in the side.)

From Sis: dis guy was able to figure out a big secret of mine and what i was thinking of and what i was looking at at any particular time.... he is hecka cool!!! i like it but be careful! love, sis! ♥♥♥

From Ru again: As a disclaimer, I do NOT recommend this site at this point. I don't trust it just yet. I'm just trying to find out more.

ETA: How would I go about determining who hosts this site? Coffee says there's a way to do this...

No... I don't know of him. But as someone who does readings for others, I'm intrigued. Sometimes telling someone everything you know about them isn't such a good thing. :|

I guess what I want to know is whether this is seriously a psychic reading, or if he's somehow getting basic info off our computer. Of course, that doesn't explain everything, but it is still a fear of mine.

I didn't know you did psychic readings! ^_^ Do you need to have the person with you to do it?

I'd be concerned about that, too. But I have issues with anyone who does "hat tricks"--pulls things out of your life force just to prove that he can do it. That's kind of reckless.

No, I don't need to have the person with me to do it. in fact about half the readings I do are distance readings. You can read about them on my site: www.soulintentarts.com

I'm interested to learn what you find out about this guy. Wild.

Apparently the site is an elaborate hoax, with a trick to it so one person can secretly type in their question's response and wow their friends. It really freaked me out though... I might have to be pissed off at Sis' friend for a while.

Wow, that's so neat! I need to check out your site. ♥

it's times like this in which i wish my tech knowledge wouldn't just up and disappear. i feel you can squeeze more info out of an ip address. i bet f would know what is possible in these cases...

I don't have any helpful info for you, but I would be worried about that too. Of course, that's partly because I don't believe in psychic readings (no offense intended to those who do).

I found out that it's an elaborate hoax wherein one person types in the answers secretly to the other person's questions. So that's a relief for me. But it's still creepy to know that there ARE ways for others to find out info on you...

My ex is a computer guy. He knows ways to find out all kinds of info on people. There is ways to pull up info about you from your computer by going to a website. Even if you think you have all this safe guarding on your computer. People can hack into your computer and read anything that has ever been written. I think this guy found a way into your computer and that's how he got your info. Just be really really careful.

They can get your name from that, but how would you figure out what someone's wearing? Or thinking?

hehe

I've used this website on other people before....what happens is that the person typing types a comma then the answer to the question, which appears on the screen as "Peter, will you answer the following question" or w/e....then you type the question in the question spot, and the answer that you already wrote pops up.

So, wait, I don't get it... I am answering my own questions? Because we haven't given out any info before... How does it work? I lost you. ^__^

If this is the website I'm thinking of, then someone else is typing the questions.....

Okeedokee, Sis figured it out before I could try what you suggested. *laughs* She's so smart... Thank you so much for you help! It's a load off my mind, definitely.

Date: 2007-05-09 05:32 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] rurounihime.livejournal.com
Figured it out. It's kind of like a cyber-magic trick. Pretty clever, actually, but I didn't like being scared like that...

Date: 2007-05-09 05:33 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] rurounihime.livejournal.com
That is SO SCARY. As it turns out, the site I was talking about is a hoax, and there's a way for one person to trick the other by typing the answers in themselves. So there's no psychic. But what you said still creeps me out so much. We all need to be very careful online...

Date: 2007-05-09 04:55 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] joy0707.livejournal.com
Have you typed the questions in yourself before? I remember being freaked out by a site like that (forgot if it's the same one), but googled it and found out the trick. The one typing the question knows the trick and is actually typing the answer while on the screen it appears to be the question...if I'm not being too confusing ^^

Date: 2007-05-09 04:57 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] rurounihime.livejournal.com
No, that makes perfect sense. Sis figured it out, apparently. She's so smart... ^_^ Thank you for explaining it!

I'm glad I could help...:)

Wow. How unheimlich.... /-|. I go off the map for a few days live journal wise and when I come back, boom, you're talking about crazy psychic-os. I need coffee.

Hope I can talk to you tonight.

Sorry, I was waaaaaaay tired last night and I just watched some TV with Mum and Da and went to bed. Then early to work! We'll see if I can finagle the comp tonight... I need to buy that new VAST cd. Tell me, are they mp3s or are they wav files?

Date: 2007-05-15 06:40 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] fireelemental79.livejournal.com
MP3s of course. Geeze. What do you think they're selling there?

;-)

I wish you had been able to stay up later tonight. Hopefully we can talk more tomorrow.
