[livejournal.com profile] curi_oh wrote me a drabble! She is so wonderful! Link to it here: Time For More

Just finished watching Kill Bill Vol. 2. Lovely movie duo, I must say, though I liked the first one better. I don't think Tarantino managed to ever top the battle scene between The Bride and O-Ren at the end of Vol. 1. Think my favorite character is Elle, however. So deliciously nasty.

My thoughts:
1)I may have to pick up the soundtrack to Vol. 1.
2)Darryl Hannah still kicks ass.
3)Channeling a bit of Pris from Blade Runner is always welcome.
4)Three cheers for old Samurai revenge films.

Alrighty then. More fics, more drabbles coming your way later this week. Everyone have a vengeful evening.

Yay! I'm so glad you liked the drabble. :)

I haven't seen the second movie. I might rent it in a few months though. I didn't really like the first one.

Yeah. The movies are kind of interesting... I think people either like them a lot, or they don't really like them at all. It's just kind of fun to see Tarantino quoting all these old revenge flicks... I also love Tarantino's whacked out style, so that helps... Have you seen From Dusk Til Dawn? That's really bizarre: cops-and-robbers type of movie, and then suddenly Salma Hayek turns into a vampire and it gets... weird. Quite entertaining, though.

Well, I usually like Tarantino stuff - that's why the first installment of Kill Bill was so disappointing. No, haven't seen From Dusk Till Dawn, though I think I remember that it looked scary and I tend to avoid scary movies.

Ah, I love scary movies. It's kind of sad, really, how many I watch. I've taken three bloody college classes about the Horror Film. I guess I really am an addict.

From Dusk Til Dawn is one of those movies that's got a scary thread, but really revolves more around shock factor and quirky ludicrous-ness (is that even a word?)

What kind of movies do you like?

I like comedies. I also like cheesy Disney movies. But comedies are the things that get me really excited. I hate dramas but I watch them cause people make me. Action is another good genre.

I'm pretty mainstream in that respect, I think. I'm really not up for arsty movies or any of that. I just want to laugh.

I do like a good comedy once in a while. Monty Python is a long time favorite of mine... But I seem to thrive on ansgty stuff. My friends have a joke running when we go see a movie. Within ten minutes they know who will be dead at the end, because it is always inevitably the person I like. Kind of funny, but it has proven itself true more than once.

Oh well. Always up for The Holy Grail. "Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?" *smirk*

I adore Monty Python! I don't know where I would be without them. Probably still here.

"Run away! Run away!" Ahahahah - brave men.

"Camelot."
"Camelot."
"Camelot."
"It's only a model."

Heh heh.

Oh Lordy, I forgot about the model comment! I've always had a fondness for this one: "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries!"

*sigh* John Cleese... what a guy...

(Hey, you wouldn't by any chance know how I can reduce posts on my journal to taglines only, would you? Like, if I have a long conversation with someone, but I don't want everyone to scroll through the whole thing. If not, no matter; just thought I'd ask.)

Thanks!

Did I already tell you that John Cleese spoke at my graduation? He's awesome.

And no, I have no idea how to reduce taglines...I assume you mean in the replies. I think LJ has a scheme for that cause whenever that happens to me, it's a surprise.

Hmm. Well, thank you anyway, I will figure something out. :>

Wow! He spoke at your graduation? That's so awesome! *frets jealously* What did he say? Anything poignant?

I don't remember all that he said, but his main message was not to let life rush you. You know, cause of people like Donald Trump who are always on the move and don't really live a full life - because they don't have time. Haha, I remember something he said (about Trump):

"Donald Trump gets 150 calls a day. The man is in hell - he's just too busy to notice."

Hahahah! I thought that was great (it sounded better the way he put it but I can't quite remember how it went).

Ha! That is so John Cleese! I love it when you get speakers who put a humoorous edge on things. I would have been rolling on the floor if he had been there, and my family would have fainted with happiness. We're all big fans. I really wish he had more of a part in the HP movies... I really think they are stinting Nearly Headless Nick. *mutters angrily*

I haven't seen Kill Bill Vol 2 yet, but Vol 1 really made me want to go take karate lessons. (And I don't think anything could top the battle scene between O-Ren and The Bride...that just rocked.)

That scene was so cool! I loved when they were outside in the snow. Really breathtakingly beautiful. As I am an anime freak, that whole story of O-Ren's life was very interesting to me, too. It's nice that I have finally found a movie where I really like Uma Thurman. Usually I never really connect to her character, or the movie just... sucks... *cough cough Batman and Robin cough*
