Movie Meme

So. I am doing 13 quotes from some of my favorite movies, because 13 is my lucky number. I invite everyone to guess at the movies and the speakers. I will strike them through as they are guessed. ^_^

2) Ok, Jim. I've got some bad news. Mark from 28 Days Later, breaking some rather disturbing news. (MY FAVORITE MOVIE EVER, RIGHT HERE)

3) If I were my real size your cow here would die of fright. Down, Bessie! Mushu from Mulan

4) Well, we kinda face to the north and, real sudden-like, turn left. Hawkeye from Last of the Mohicans

5) It's not normal for a woman to read! Soon she starts getting ideas, and thinking... Gaston from Beauty and the Beast

6) Once the killing starts, this psycho fuck family of ours is gonna rip itself apart. Riddick from Pitch Black

7) And last, you can never, ever, ever under any circumstances say "I'll be right back," 'Cause you won't be back. Randy from Scream

8) Bitch isn't standing now. Rain from Resident Evil

9) He’s like a turd that won’t flush. Dennis Hopper's character from Waterworld.

10) A life lived in fear is a life half-lived. Fran from Strictly Ballroom

11) You're living in the past father, this is the 14th century! Prince Phillip from Sleeping Beauty

12) He better be worth it. He better go home and cure a disease, or invent a longer-lasting light bulb. Capt. John Miller from Saving Private Ryan

The only one I know that hasn't been guessed already is 10) Strictly Ballroom (I think is the name of the movie). I haven't actually watched it, but it's my friend's favorite quote of all time.

Date: 2005-01-10 09:49 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] rurounihime.livejournal.com
Yaaaaay! That's one of the harder ones. Congrats! *kiss*

I feel really random for commenting, but hey, your post was on my f-list (I follow your stories), and I figured hey, what the hell!

So... number nine... is that from Waterworld? It sounds like it was from that one, and I heart that movie.

Okay, enough of me now!

Date: 2005-01-11 08:43 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] rurounihime.livejournal.com
Woo-hoo! *glomps* You're the first person to get that one! It's all yours. And yes, lovely movie. I adore it. I think that's one of the best lines because it just comes out of nowhere. ^__^

Date: 2005-01-11 03:56 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] angelsk.livejournal.com
Is 2 American Pie?

And the other sounds like Buffy or Bill & Ted or something like that.

Date: 2005-01-11 08:44 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] rurounihime.livejournal.com
Ahaha, you're the second person to guess American Pie. Actually the movie it's from is in a completely opposite genre of film. But good guess! *hugs*

Date: 2005-01-11 08:26 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] ravenpan.livejournal.com
2 - 28 Days Later?
9 - Waterworld?

Date: 2005-01-11 08:45 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] rurounihime.livejournal.com
NAILED IT. Number 2 is my favorite movie of ALL TIME. I adore it. It has so many facets! *chocolate for you*

Coming in totally after the fact to this little fiasco you got going here I would like to make 2 comments:

1. I totally would have gotten number two as well *winky winky. . . drool*

2. What is up with this little fun and games. My friend The Greg [livejournal.com profile] superphone is doing one of these as well, but with really obscure and weird song lyrics (most of which have not been guessed). I either have been left behind, or on the bright side, I'm not a follower in what may become an epidemic of mindless quizzies.

I just found it weird. That is all.

1. Haha, I know! I put number two up with you in mind, and up until about 9 this morning, no one got it. Everyong was guessing American Pie or something. *makes a funny face* That and the Waterworld one. I was so hoping you would see this...

2. Yeah, it's just one of many little Memes that go around. If you have a lot of people whose ljs you watch, they appear from time to time. They're just fun, that's all. No biggie.

Sorry. I've just been superbusy with filling in for my co-worker. Last night was HELL!!! Haven't had much time to get online. Sorry, next time. :-(

But hey, "you can't leave that lyin' there." ;-D

"Completely humorless. You two should get along like a house on fire."

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is my favorite quote, right there, from 28 Days Later. . . .Ah, like a house on fire. I love that.

Date: 2005-01-12 11:09 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] rurounihime.livejournal.com
Hahaha, does he really say that? I never noticed. ^_^

I always liked this one: Do you want to find a cure or just fall in love and fuck?

And Hannah's: They've been gone a long time, haven't they? I think they're dead. (or something similar)

Date: 2005-01-12 11:29 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] fireelemental79.livejournal.com
Yeah, Mark actully says that. I've had to watch the movie with subtitles a couple of times cause my dad's practically deaf and he doesn't understand Brit, apparently. The accents you know. So, it's an enlightening experience though, I've picked up on stuff I've totally missed otherwise.

Oh, I wanted to ask, have you seen Dead Like Me. It's a show (about death, duh) on Showtime, I think my friend said. He let me borrow his. It's really cool. I'm just reminded of this right now because of one really cool quote: "My wank is the key."

Does that not just make you want to watch it?

Date: 2005-01-13 12:21 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] rurounihime.livejournal.com
Totally. But I've never even heard of it. What's it about?

Date: 2005-01-13 11:45 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] fireelemental79.livejournal.com
Girl dies at 18 by an accident. Not going to give that away, too funny. Girl finds herself being escorted around by a couple of "Grim Reapers" until suddenly they break the news to her that, ack! she's a "Grim Reaper" too now. So now she's stuck in the most suck ass job ever, undead social service, where she doesn't get paid, or benefits. . . and well it just keeps on getting funnier. My favorite character is Mason, the British guy. He's got an air of Trainspottyness about him (I just barely saw that movie this last weekend and already I want to rush right out and buy it cause it was fucked up but cool). I won't say any more, other than I love him, and he's the one whose "wank is the key."

Date: 2005-01-13 12:46 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] rurounihime.livejournal.com
Yeah, I think I have heard of it, actually, now that you've described it. Very briefly. Sounds quite funny. And Brit guys are always great.

I saw Trainspotting in England, and I loved it. So funny, especially the "worst fucking bathroom in Scotland". Best scene ever. And when he was flipping out on his withdrawal and saw the baby crawling across the ceiling. I love that movie. Ewan is great in it.

Date: 2005-01-13 11:46 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] fireelemental79.livejournal.com
God, don't even mention the "worst fucking bathroom in Scotland" to me ever again because I shudder and desire to puke just to think of it. God god god.
