I am starting my own meme, because I am a part of a very special species of geek. ^_^

These are the voyages of the USS Star Trek Meme. It's mission is to seek out new life and new civilisations, and to boldly go where no other meme has gone before. If you see this on your f-list, your orders are as follows:

~Give me your top five Star Trek episodes of all time. If you know the title, more power to you. Please describe the episode so that it is recognizable by your other crew members. Pick from any of the five series: Star Trek; Star Trek: The Next Generation; Star Trek: Deep Space Nine; Star Trek: Voyager; and Enterprise.

~Copy this to your lj and post. If you see something on your list listed elsewhere, stick a star by it on your own list and give the person who mentioned it a comment.

MY LIST:

1) "Night Terrors" (ST: TNG). The Enterprise discovers a Federation ship full of dead officers... all gone insane, all killed by each other. The worst part is, it's starting to happen on the Enterprise as well.

This episode remains one of the scariest episodes on ANY TV SERIES I have ever seen. *shudders* I LOVE IT. I could watch it over and over again. The effects of paranoia... Let me recommend that everyone get their due amount of REM sleep.

2) "Battle Lines" (DS9). Several members of the crew crash-land on a planetary penal colony, the home of two feuding races who are punished by constantly warring and not being allowed to die of their wounds.

This episode is so visceral. The dead walk, and the weapons used for combat are of the hand-to-hand variety. The subject matter alone is enough to sober anyone. And it stars one of my favorite side characters, Kai Opaka.

3) "Schisms" (TNG). The crew is being taken in their sleep by an interdimensional alien race with a mind for human experimentation.

The way to remember this episode is the clicking sound the aliens make, and the scene where the crew members are trying to reconstruct the chair they were strapped down on when abducted. Oooh, this one still gives me the shivers.

4) "Pon Farr" (Voyager). B'Elanna Torres has been afflicted with the Vulcan mating drive and has chosen Tom Paris for her mate.

What with the numerous Veela fics I love, it is no surprise that the uncontrollable mating drive featured here is a favorite of mine. This episode is HAWT. Hahaha. *leers* And Paris and B'Elanna make a lurvely couple.

5) Don't know the title of this one (TNG). Due to a new virus, the crew de-evolves into the primordial species of their respective planets.

I always wondered: if Riker was a Homo Erectus, Troi a fishy amphibian, and Barclay an arachnid, would Data become a calculator? *gleeeeeee!* I adore this episode.

Make it so!

DUDE. I totally love ALL of those episodes, but especially the primordial de-evolving and Night Terrors. And dude, the abducted by aliens one FREAKS ME THE FUCK OUT even though I've seen it like six million times already.

Oooh, you know, the TNG one with the aliens that make the clicky noise and abduct members of the crew gave me one hell of a nightmare when I was younger, but it's still a fav of mine.

I don't remember seeing 'Battle Lines' about which season/what's going on when that episode is on?

Lessee... It's the 13th ep of Deep Space Nine. They hadn't yet met the Dominion, and Opaka was still "alive"... Worf wasn't there yet. TNG was still being filmed, I believe. I don't really remember any overarching plot arcs. I think it was still too early in the series for that.

Damn. That means I missed it being shown already in the reruns on Sky One at the minute.

Awww... Well, good luck finding it. I bet you can rent it somewhere nowadays...
The title of that particularly frightening TNG episode you're talking about concerning the Clicky aliens is "Schism."

As for my favorite episodes? Well, I'll go post them right away. hehe!
Grazie, bella. Thanks for the title, I shall run along and fix my post. *HUGS*

but what about the one where those bugs were inside all the Starfleet bigwigs (TNG) and were doing all kinds of crazy stuff to them and then Picard and team had to track down the mother/queen, and then that guys head EXPLODED!?!?! And they made it out like these bugs might come back one day to finish the job because they managed to SEND A MESSAGE HOME BEFORE THE QUEEN EXPLODED!!!! Conspiracy, season one - I love that one! And then theres a Fistful of Datas and Dark Page! And Parrallels! oh. sorry, I squeeed all over your post *is ashamed*

Hahaha, squeee away! That is often my reaction to the cleverness of ST as well. And that exploding-dude-head was VERY GROSS. I remember that one. ^_____^
