my lj username is zenshosukida and I am a fellow fanfic writer and also the very harried webmother of a new Harry/Draco archive born just two months ago. I used to write well-received Draco/Hermione fic pretty intensely under the username DeChantal but I'm willing to bet you've never heard of me before! Me http://www.livejournal.com/~zenshosukida
Everyone's been very supportive of my new baby, as there is definitely a lack of comprehensive Harry/Draco websites on the net. Nocturnal Secrets and I are soon affiliating to each other and a few other sites as well. A few fanartists have also volunteered to do banners and stuff for my launch for which I am eternally grateful. The site will be officially launching soon, hopefully March. I tried to complete it by Valentine's Day, but real-life has a habit of...happening to me.
I remember that when I was in the Dramione fandom, they had a great site called Contra Veritas with a staff of 10 or something and it was terribly well-run. While I don't aspire to their level of expertise, all I want is something comprehensive, user-friendly and interesting for Harry/Draco fans.
So here's the idea: I have reserved a special section on the site called 'Harry/Draco Specials' where I hope to put something new every month. After thinking long and hard about it, I thought what would be a really good idea is to have a Fanfic Author Interview of the month.
I see you are getting my drift now... perhaps you are frowning... *gulps*. Why am I writing to you? Your fics are simply marvellous and are on every list out there. I loved Nine Days of Christmas and am slowly working my way through your other fics and one-shots! Your fics are on every rec list out there, truly impressive for someone who's just started writing fanfic...So I would be greatly honoured if you would take part in an 'interview' with me, answering perhaps 20 to 25 questions I'll pose to you about your fics and your interest in H/D eg, How did you get into Harry/Draco? Which of your own fics do you like most and why? Which fic or scene was the most difficult to write? What are some of your writing rituals? etc.
I'll mail you a draft list and you can choose to answer or amend the questions till we're both happy with the finalised list. Then you can just email me back the answers.
I'll do a nice banner for the interview header and you'll be part of Darkest Magic's Fanfiction Writer Interview Series. I hope to do 12 writers in all, one a month, for a whole year. I could even include a little photo of you, your favourite food, etc or doll-maker photo of you if you wish. Anything, really, 'coz it's going to be Ruronihime Month. Later, your Interview will be archived under 'Interview 2006 Rurounihime' for all posterity. The interview and site will be publicised on all the HD and Slash Journals out there and a different writer for each month.
If you agree in principle, do email me back as soon as you can so I can schedule you a month.
The archive is here: http://www.freewebs.com/darkestmagic
Click refresh regularly as I'm adding to it by the day in prep for its launch. Some sections are still under construction. It's not slick or flashy, just very neat and user-friendly. I made 1000 hits on Valentine's Day, jsut two months after start-up!
Whew, what a long email. I do hope you're agreeable. I was practically trembling when I wrote this as I know it's such an imposition.
Fingers crossed, zen
PS: It's okay if you say no *heartbreaks*, just let me down gentle.
Sweets, this is so flattering! I would love to be interviewed. I fyou have a set of questions ready, please send them here: rurounihime@gmail.com and I will take a look at them.
Your site looks lovely! I would love to be a part of it. Thank you so much for thinking of me.
