rurounihime: (acting by miss_padfoot and kadath)
I saw two good movies recently.

The first, X-Men 3 (went and saw it today). Good film, most definitely. The darkest of the three. It felt good to be able to point out plot points and characters from the original comic series to all the noobs who you can just TELL were not fans of the X-Men as children. Either that or they are too young. I found the ultimate body count to be very, very high, especially in the ranks of the regulars. Quite depressing, for sure. Some things I would have liked to see more of. Fire, you are right: I miss Gambit. And WHERE THE BLEEP WAS NIGHTCRAWLER?? *weeps* Oh, but wasn't Angel the hottest? Mmmmmm... *drools* *wants wings*

The second, Silent Hill (about a week and a half ago). I tell ya, I am very glad to see one of those horror video games finally make itself into a good stand-alone movie. Resident Evil, fun for kicks, but not all that great when it comes right down to it. And Res Ev 2? Totally incomprehensible about halfway through. Either that, or just not scary anymore. Too bad, because that game series is FREAKY. But Silent Hill... Man, that was like the scandalous love child of Lovecraft and Giger. TOTALLY up my alley as far as what is scary. I liked them twitchy nurses, for sure. And I just adore the ghost story concept about alternate dimensions, and brushing past each other while on separate planes. And that whole issue about Daytime versus His Time. That was a stroke of genius, and it makes me want to play the game. But again, Fire, you are right: the death scene of Alice Krige's character Christabella? Totally over the top, and definitely thought up by some male somewhere, probably a tentacle-hentai lover. *shakes head in disappointment* I really recommend this movie. Waaaaaay creepy, way bloody, way engrossing, except for that death scene I talked about back in the spoilers section. The actors were wunnerful, with the exception of a certain ebil child. *rolls eyes at a certain ebil child voice-over* But Kick-Ass Cop Girl, Cool Mom Girl, Hot Dad Boy, Crazy Bag Lady, Ebil Religious Fanatic Lady, and BAD-ASS WITH THE FUNKY POINTY HELMET FROM YOUR WORST NIGHTMARES GUY were great!

Did I ever tell you about the day I first played Silent Hill? Well. I also played Resident Evils 1 and 3, and watched "Excel Saga" and "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" in the same afternoon. Kind of a mind fuck of a day, all around. ^_^

My sis got a big ol' trampoline for the backyard a week or so ago. We have been practicing our front flips. I likes me that trapperleen. *flies about* *...sadly, without wings*

So yeah. With the recent movie watching. And the recent trapperleen jumping.

So, on the plus, there was lots and lots of St. John Allderyce and Bobby action [hotties]. On the negative, they killed off basically everyone, which was stupid, made Rogue a whiny bitch, and there was no Gambit. So yeah...your feelings towards the movie are somewhat more benevolent than mine.

The no Gambit thing made for much pouting on my part but Angel's simply lickable hipbones sorta kinda made up for part of it.

:D

Oh yeah, I agree. WTFWHERETF WAS MY ELFMAN? I fell in love with him. Sure, at first I'm like "woh, they went old didn't they?" and "hey, Nightcrawler is the ultimate in blue hotness (no offense Beast but comeonhere, the ears damnit)." But then eventually I just lovedededed him to pieces and what, he goes back to his monestary? *mindless bleeping cussies*

And still no Gambit. At this rate, the only way they will be able to make it up to me is having THE GAMBIT TRIOLOGY. Three movies devoted to my favorite explosive Cajun badass. *wantsmecajunbadassRemydrools*

However, while I have never been a big fan of the o'winged one (or of Jean for that matter) both got me in this movie, just as Hugh Jackman got me on Wolvy's side in the first one. I mean, guh, wuh, huh, hawt....grrrr, wings! *puddle* And that scene where (SPOILER) he breaks free in the lab, uh. I could have died and let his barechestedness carry me off to heaven (ENDSPOILER).

Oh the subject of Silent Hill, sorta, you need to check out that Stained video for AL (lovethatShikee). Um, you'll totally see why within the first few seconds. Creepy, but also reminescent. And oh yes, (NEWSPOILS) barbed wire tentecle impalment? WTF?(ENDSPOILS) But I'm with you, I wouldn't mind playing that game, and yes, his time vs. day time (both creepy) was such a great device.

Anyway... That is all I gots to say I guess.

Yes! X-Men 3! So much love. And yeah, I'm missing Gambit, too. It'd be interesting if they did happen to introduce him in the movies... and then have some jealous!Ice-man. Ooh, yeah. Just for me. :P

Angel had some lovely abs didn't he? I was sitting between my mother-in-law and my husband so I couldn't even properly appreciate them... but gunh! There were quite a few things that made me go o.O, while watching but overall I liked it. And they've left it open for a sequel so that's a bonus.

Well, that cements it, I'm definately going to see SH now, I'd been sorely, sorely tempted. And of course I'll see X3. Dur. :p Sadly, I own SH3 or something and I've never played it. And I liked RE movies, just not /hugely/ on the second one.

Trampoline! Ah, I am jealous! My sis only has an itty bitty trampy. You trampy tramper you!

*jealous*

Just to comment on your new obsession...

For people who hadn't played the game that was scary but so confusing. Wondering is a good thing to leave an audience - utterly "heh?" isn't.

hehehe. Heh! Wingdude's superman pose.
