Okay, I have two questions for everyone...

First, some vital information. I am embarking on what will probably end up being a fairly long fic. At this point, I am trying to put my ideas together; the actual writing of said fic will not be for a bit. (I have two other fics I need to concentrate on finishing right now.)

Premise: AU. Harry and Draco have a rock band... and everything that comes with it, good and bad. There will be NO MAGIC in this fic, possibly no Hogwarts, but various characters will make an appearance. H/D eventually.

So. My questions are:

I need info on the recording process. I plan to ask my good bud who was in various bands for about five years, but I would love to hear any info you may have to impart. Success stories, musical mishaps, asshole producers, bunged up records, botched deals, auditions, WHATEVER. If I choose to use an idea or part of one, you will be credited, of course. But I am afraid I know very little about the process itself. Any help you could give me, any websites/movies/books you could point me to, would be marvelous.

I'm willing to be your sounding board on this if you like. I've been in the music world all my life. I can tell you what I know about recording, lingo, gigs, what can go wrong, equipment, venues, touring, what bands really get paid, the writing prosess, groove, falling outs...whatever, baby!

I went all over with the band names, since I didn't know what kind of rock band they have. I can't wait for this fic. I'm all excited.

Like I said, you need anything, I'd love to brainstorm with you! *smooch* This is a great idea.

My vote is to write your own lyrics, then people will pay attention to the words you want them to read. If it's a song that everyone knows, they'll hear it in their heads while they read. Not a bad thing, but if they love or hate that song it will colour what they think of the fic.

Haha, I can't wait to see your band names. I may or may not pick from the list people have offered, but I really had absolutely no idea what to call them. I have the other two band names picked out (rival band will be The Dark Mark and the girls' band will be Bellatrix because I am feeling snarky) *goes to check poll*

I didn't offer any 'HP' sounding band names, since you said there wasn't to be any magic, (iamadork) but I love the ones you've picked for the rival bands.
