Dude - my friend worked over there teaching English, and she said they'll take just about ANYONE with formal academic higher education qualifications, lol! She told me one guy had a Diploma in Sport or something ridiculous, but still! English teacher! lol

I was stationed in Japan for 3 years. My youngest was born there (here little hospital beany cap says "Made in Japan"). Lived not far from Yokohoma, outside Tokyo. Was a bit intimidated at first due to the language barrier but I came to love the people and the country. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Oh, but i forgot to mention that you can't leave until after you finish the "Under Fingertips" series because *GAH!* that is by far the BEST HP mpreg I have ever read. It's the raw honesty you chose to use as you approached the subject of mpreg... Regardless of the fact that Harry & Draco exist in world with magic, the reality of the situation is that it's still unnatural and there should be serious risks and sacrifices involved. Love every word you've written thus far... Constantly on the look out for the next installment. So, no Japan for you until that tale is complete. *evilgrin*

OMG! I applied at Nova about 3 months ago, but didn't make it to the interview in Chicago due to financial difficulties. I have a very close friend that lived in Japan (Osaka) for 6 years while working for them and suggested I give it a try. He absolutely loved it and had the time of his life. Perhaps, if things change, I'll pursue it again before other things get in the way. Congratulations!!! It does take a lot of guts to go through that final submition, but I'm sure things will go fantastic!

Yeah, NOVA is the one I applied to. I tried JET a couple years ago, but they get so many apps that they can afford to be picky, because it was my impression they turned down several qualified people that I knew alone. So...

I think you should definitely try it again later on. It seems like such a worthwhile endeavor.

Actually, I remember that link and I meant to talk to you about it before this...

That story got misnamed in the link. "Soft, I did but dream" was actually my lj title at the time and somehow someone thought that was the title of the story itself. I don't remember which story that was, though, and now I can't find it on Darkest Magic. So no, I never wrote a story with that title. My lj name got superimposed over it for some reason.
